This is the story of the Kindred Kares team and their mission to serve their community by offering safe and affordable transportation for seniors and children.
The Kindred Kares Story
Whether it’s dealing with a child’s health, parents or your own, we often need help from others. We were faced with the challenge of helping an ill parent, Sharon Menzies Stiger, as she was diagnosed with fibrosis of the lungs. With her living in Atlanta and being unable to travel and us in Houston, we often felt helpless being unable to physically be there to help her in any way.
With our hearts still heavy, we are sad to say Sharon departed from us in August 2017. In her honor, we’ve decided to do something about those challenges we all face. With everyone’s life being so busy, we questioned ourselves. How can we help others who are dealing with the same things we’ve faced? What contributions can we make and have a positive impact on society?
Thus, leading us to start Kindred Kares: a Non-Medical Emergency Transportation Company where we will provide reliable transportation to doctor appointments, dialysis, after-school care for children, and more.

We have had to use Kindred Kares often for my parents and our children. I cannot say enough good things about them and how much we appreciate the services that they provide. I love that there aren’t a bunch of different drivers transporting my parents and children around. This is a family-owned business and there is a familiarity there and you just don’t get that with other transport companies. They have been a tremendous time-saver and a blessing to our family.
Kindred Kares has been a blessing to me. I am a single mom and it can be difficult to leave work and pick up the kids and take them to soccer practice or dance class and get where you need to be on time. They are always prompt and I receive a notification when they are picked up and dropped off. They also take the extra time to make sure that they aren’t just dropping them off with anyone. In this day and age, you have to be so careful and I appreciate that they make safety first. I continue to use their services and I wouldn’t choose anyone else.
I am a little behind the curve when it comes to using a computer. I had called around to different companies and Kindred Kares really puts their customers first. I have had to get transportation on several occasions, and I can always call them, and they schedule everything for me over the phone. I like that the same person that picks me up is the same person that drops me off. I know this won’t always be the case, but I sure do appreciate that they try.
I have had to use Kindred Kares for transportation to the medical center. They are very reliable, and they really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.
We had just relocated across town but weren’t ready to switch our son’s school yet. We reached out to the team at Kindred Kares and they were ready, willing, and able to help. Ms. Geneva was the incredible woman who took care of our 5-year-old and our son loved her from the first time he met her. She along with the rest of the Kindred Kares team always go above and beyond to deliver on our transportation needs.
We use Kindred Kares for my dad to take him back and forth for his dialysis appointments. They are prompt and reasonably priced. The fact that they are first aid and CPR certified really puts us at ease.
